Enamel & Leaf on Panel, 1998

This classic Elvis Icon was from a series of I made in 1998. There were a few different variations of this image, mainly with different colored suits.  This is the classic White Suit version,  a personal favorite,  which has been in my archive undisturbed for years.  It was high time for this painting to be seen again.

It is painted with oil-based enamels on a hand-gilt panel surface using copper and bronze leafs.  Parts of this painting have acquired patina, which make this piece better now than when it was new.
